Silver Fern · Fable Generated Assets · The Character Volume
the character bible — plates, expressions, wardrobe, empty states, loaders, jobs, comics, idents, straight face, merch, law, and lore. fernie™ is always lowercase; fernie creates — growers approve. Eight canonical face symbols; the geometry never changes.

Do/don’t plates for anyone using the character. INTERNAL.
Lowercase, always. At sentence start, in display type, on a shirt, in a footer. The ™ rides the first visible use on a card; after that, bare fernie is fine.
The mark is used as it is drawn — its own proportions, its own colors, facing the way it faces. Clear space is part of the mark. Everything else is one of five sins, and all five are listed below.
the sins are shown on a proxy tile — the mark itself never demonstrates them.
Six states come from the product’s state machine. The context picks the face — never the designer’s mood.
nothing due. night idle. the good-news empty screens.
a voicemail, an email, a barn note arriving.
a conflict on the table — two trucks, one dock.
lines assembling. imports, counts, posting.
finished work, staged for review. never a victory lap.
money. errors. anything a grower is upset about.
invoices and anything with a dollar sign · errors and their corrections · short-ships and the buyers they touch · any moment a grower is upset
fernie never grins at a problem.
Wardrobe is additive. An accessory sits on or around the mark and changes nothing underneath — no stretching to fit a hat, no recoloring to match a scarf.
if it touches the fronds, move it, shrink it, or drop it.
What fernie may be said to do — verbatim, and nothing more. The list is the fence: inside is fine, outside does not exist.
Every sanctioned claim ends there. fernie creates; growers approve. fernie never sends, never decides, never overrides.
fernie shares a frame with Silver Fern marks and Work Suite module chips. Customer logos, never. Competitor logos, never. There is no exception path, so there is nothing to ask.
the company that made it — nothing else wears the frame.
not at a show, not in a deck, not in a case study.
When a card is in doubt, the face goes straight and the question goes to marketing.
Is there money, an error, or an upset grower anywhere in the frame?
yes → straight face. no exceptions.
Could a grower read this as fernie sending or deciding?
yes → stop. fernie creates; growers approve.
nothing ships on a guess.

Origin, the name, the manifesto, the desk. For our walls. INTERNAL.
"…yeah, it's Ray — need, uh, forty flats of the red gerani— the ZONALS — for Thursday… dock two if — [truck noise] — …call me back. or don't."
a draft is homework — it implies somebody else finishes. fernie™ finishes: the order written, the math checked, the confirmation ready to go. what's left is the decision, and the decision is yours.
